Traveling is simply going on an adventure. Of course I do not talk about those who go to beach hotels or big cities. I am talking about those who wander far, those who go off the beaten path, explore exotic places and meet particular people.

Traveling is not just about getting to a destination ... traveling is about sharpening our experience, expanding our perspectives and enriching our knowledge of new cultures, different customs, original traditions, religions and even history, geography and politics ... as well as food and sometimes beautiful casual encounters.

Traveling ... strengthens personality, strengthens self-knowledge and gives us the chance to meet and socialize with other people with a way of life and thought that may be completely different from ours.

As far as I'm concerned, the first reason I travel and to relax and unwind and that does not mean to rest ... it's also to escape a monotonous present, to escape from an cities cloister and to change place and mood ... it's also to create memories and find reasons to wander and write.

Television and the internet can not be enough to reflect what is happening and what really exists in our world. Paintings, photos or books can never paint or describe the reality of having experienced a situation or experiencing a scene in the first place.

Traveling is always a source of inspiration that I use every time to let my pen express my perception of the magic of the place visited. It's not easy to find the words that describe my impressions of the delicacy of the rain in a forest ... the phrases that express the freshness of a morning breeze laden with dew ... the words that narrate the song and the cries of a heron or the sound of a gibbon ... or the phrases that pursue a lazy orangutan moving at the pace of a snail. Simple situations that strike me with their beauty and that I could never live in reality.

Small things that may seem banal give me a phenomenal happiness. Whether it's the scented smell of incense burned in a house or worshiped places of worship, the savory scent of spices in a market, the vapors of a soup with dried fish, rest under the cool shade and fragrant of an Oud planted at the foot of an antiques monument, the majestic view of a wall separating two opposing civilizations or walking barefoot, on a beautiful sandy beach of an isolated island, even if I am not the first to tread it ... is only an invitation to my Being to wander and dream. All my senses are stimulated in an exciting and exciting way that the juice of my thought begins to flow bringing to my mind a profusion of new ideas.

I go on a trip for all this ... and especially to make shine again the child who lives in me ... to challenge my recklessness, conquer some fears and challenge weaknesses that may occur in extreme situations.
