Hi!

My name is Emilka - equivalent to english Emily :)

Currently I studied polish filology and history on University in Wrocław. Besides that, I always wanted to learn something what could help me makes other people lives better - so I started studying in college too, I've finished it and become professional medical care assistant.

I don't have my own house yet, but I'm going to get it in future, of course! I've lived in Wroclaw for main part of my life. I started to travel though and now I'm trying to live, work and be happy in the most beautiful city of Scotland (imo!) - Edinburgh! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I love traveling and meeting new people. I didn't try this form of "surfing" yet, but I'm surely going to because in my opinion it is the best way to know culture and life style of the country. And I have to say, that it isn't just chit-chat - I really like to discover, experience and getting to know each other :)

Moreover, this form of traveling is much cheaper than normal travels with living in hotels and stuff like that.

Interests

Oh... My favourite part :D

I have really many hobbies. I love reading books, swimming, writing, watching films and film series. I like walking with my lovely dog (Frigga), stroking my favourite cat (Carmell) and riding a bike. As I told - I love traveling too.

For long time I belong to reconstruction group (HIRD) - Villsvin hird, where I enjoy being somebody else, who was a viking, lived in middle ages and waved axe. :)

My passion is sewing - with my own hands or sew-machine. Anyway, anyhow. Hood on my profile picture was sewing by me too! And I'm really proud of it :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: First of all - I love folk music and bands like Wardruna, Żywiołak, Irfan. Otherwise, I like also bands like Bjork, Sigur Ros, Sia, Fever Ray, Dave Matthev Band, Rishloo and more :)

Movies: Hannibal (film and serial), Vikings (serial), anime series ("Mushishi", "Kara no kyoukai" and more), all disney films...

Books: It will be easier with my favourite authors. Brian Lumley, Dorota Terakowska, Jarosław Grzędowicz, Andrzej Sapkowski, Mircea Eliade, Anne Rice... :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day I've decided to do an alpinist course. I passed an exam and... I started to practise and - later - to work as somebody who's organising different kinds of challenges with alpine ropes hanged on the high bridge. That was fantastic part of my life :)
