About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Step, step, triple step...

ABOUT ME

I live, I walk, I force myself to study, hang out with people, read books, watch dreams and movies sometimes, travel when I have time and right mood, sing in the bathroom.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't get any big ideas

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not 24 hours on cs-channel, but I surf when I travel, I host when I can or just hang out with people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Several years of the mentioned above

Interests

In general my interests are kind of banal: books, movies, music, travelling. More specific: walking in Moscow center and sometimes in weird suburbs, walking just wherever it's beautiful or interesting, Jerusalem, cooking, architecture (but only from very dilettantish point of view), Moscow metro, Russian railway, languages, lately I really miss the nature, I love wood, sea - southern as well as northern, mountains. I used to be interested in italian icecream with all my heart and almost developed a scientific field concerning it, but after 6 months in Rome this passion became much weaker (which also means I'm not really faithful to my interests). I'm happy to get postcards, I buy them a lot, but forget addresses to send.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can just give some random examples of what impressed me in divers times...Movies: many by Pedro Almadovar, "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" and "Sicence of sleeping" by Gondri, "Head on" (Fatih Akin), "Arizona Dream", (Kusturica), "Forrest Gump" , "Rocco and his brothers" (Visconti), "In the mood for love" (Wong Kar Wai), one of my favorite directors is Marlen Khutsiev. Music: Dead can Dance, The Door, Nina Simone, soundtrack for "Dead Man" by Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Tim Buckly, Yanka Dyagileva, Auktyon, Alexander Galich, Portishead, Beirut, Fabrizio de Andre',Leonard Cohen, soundtrack for "Amelie" by Yann Tiersen, Sigur Ros, Avishai Cohen, klezmer, Portishead, Chaconne in g minor for violin (Vitali).Books/writers: Etgar Keret, Boris Pasternak's lyrics and some other Russian poets, "The Sound and the Fury" (Faulkner), "Decameron" (Boccaccio), "The Threepenny Opera" (Brecht), "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Harper Lee), "If this is a man" (Primo Levi), "Family Sayings" (Natalia Ginzburg), everything I read by Meir Shalev so far was fantastic! And more, and more, and more (and many others to be discovered)...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen once monks playing basketball and cats making love on the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
