My name is Kat. I am originally from the country outside of Guelph, Ontario and moved to Ottawa about 4 years ago. I work in Social Services here in a job I absolutely adore, and am currently taking a break from my schooling to experience living in a different kind of way... away from endless reading and deadlines! I'm friendly, easy going and open minded.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to surf as well as host. I had my first surfing experience this past November, and it was the most 'at home' I've ever felt so far away from home. I met some amazing folks, and my heart and mind was opened to this great way of helping out like minded people on their journeys. It was a really inspiring experience, and I want to be a part of it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Like I noted above, when travelling through Arizona this past November, I was welcomed into a strangers home like it was my own. I had never felt so comfortable and at ease in a place I had never been before, and where I knew no one. The stranger quickly became a friend, and I was really touched by his generosity and kindness. It opened my mind to the amazing folks who are out there willing to help others out, and it inspired me to do the same :)

Interests

I love music (making it and listening to it!) and dancing. I love reading and writing and am interested in people, travelling, learning, and various activities such as bike riding, yoga, and meditation. I love being in nature, hiking and camping. I am dedicated to perpetual self growth and the spiritual journey, and am fascinated by this magnificant world in which we live. I hope to learn as much about 'it all' as I can through diverse experiences, interactions and extensive introspection.
