About Me

I am happily married with children, although I do enjoy travelling alone and meeting new people.

I love new experiences, live music and pets. I run OKC Spanish, a conversation group that invites people to language intercambios and conversation practice, and I am a member of a local French Conversation group. I practice piano and guitar, and my favorite book is "Them", by Ben Sasse - a book about how our communities are breaking down in the modern age, and how we can rebuild them with the tools of our time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed a few of times and it has been GREAT. If not for couchsurfing, Madrid and Merida (Spain) would be two cities that I would have visited but not have known. I enjoy experiencing the local's personal favorite spots, and especially visiting tourist sights that they haven't gotten out to see yet either!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Spain completely alone, unsure of my procifiency in Spanish (and completely ignorant of Catalan!), not knowing anyone in Spain, not sure how well I would adapt to the Euro-style. But I met people, I saw awesome places, and I had a great time. I think that is amazing - going somewhere alone and with an open calendar and having an unscheduled wonderful time :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to listen to others and have one-on-one conversations. I can make a couple of dinners, and I usually bring a small gift from home :)
