About Me
ABOUT ME
I really can't sit still on who I am, but it makes me very interested in other people. I like to think that I live in the moment, and that understanding who I am with is more important than trying to remember who I am.
PHILOSOPHY
Being with friends who like what you do. Knowing yourself, knowing myself. Not afraid of looking dumb to lighten the mood. Playing music, not being afraid of making other people look ridiculous. Talking, creating, not getting tangled up in serious ideas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Making food, creating new things, gardening, playing guitar, banjo, singing, illustrations, telling stories, dancing and having long-winding discussions, backgammon, different kinds of coffee, making chai tea, getting involved with new cultures, hiking, whiskey.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Though I have more experience hosting couchsurfers, I can assume that the reverse is just the same.
Interests
Playing music, writing, going out for beer/ conversations, dancing swing and blues, movies (Asian cinema, Wes Anderson movies etc,) learning languages, different kinds of coffee, playing games (backgammon, Go, chess, card games), and cooking. Lots of other things I would suppose.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a musician and a writer. Music will always change. A good poet always tries to change who he is.
I guess examples are useful...
Miller, Baudelaire, Dostoesvky, Cortazar, Bolano, Neal Stephenson, James Joyce, Faulkner, are things I enjoy picking up.
Folk music is usually what I like to hear, but I like rock and roll, swing and blues music, jazz like Screamin' Jay or gentler piano pieces, I like Brahms and Mendellsohn. Whatever I write down there will always be more to say...
Movies. I love movies. I like Asian cinema, especially South Korean films, the kind of movie that is serious but entertaining. Mesrine and new French cinema are great, but I also like Isabelle Hupert's films and her collaborations with Michael Haneke. She has lately been working with Won Kar Wai, a director from Hong Kong, who is pretty exceptional.
Teach, Learn, Share
Love new ways of learning, open evironments, have a thorough knowledge of books and open to all aspects of learning. Children especially are better to learn from as you teach. There is nothing more absurd than the idea that a teacher remains a teacher and a student remains a student. The two will always be learning from each other.
