I'm not a huge movie guy but am big into music. I've got a fairly diverse taste ranging from desert blues to deep house, disco to darkwave and synthpop to psychobilly, and am always keen to discuss/share music or check out a show.

I'm also quite an avid reader and some of my favourite authors (in no particular order) are: James Clavell, Colin Fletcher, Aldous Huxley, Michael Pollan, Jack Kerouac, Haruki Murakami, Daniel Silva, J.K Rowling and Malcolm Gladwell.

In terms of the impact it had on my life, going on exchange for a year to Hong Kong when I was 14 has probably been the most amazing thing I've done. Many of the people I met and the experiences I had while I was there have shaped who I am today.

I've spent a lot of time exploring Vancouver Island so if you're looking for recommendations on cool spots to check out, I can be a good resource for that.

I also homebrew quite a bit of beer (and occasionally wine and cider) so I'm more than happy to share information and tips about that, as well as some of the stuff I've made.
