I'm just a 20 year old guy with an addiction to peanut butter. I study Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent, and I have a special interest in Russia and the Far East. Obviously I have a great interest in politics and current affairs, but I've also studied some archaeology as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe it is a great tool to meet and really connect with people on your travels. If you stay in a hotel you could easily go through your whole 'holiday' without meeting a single new person, which personally I think really defeats the point of travelling. What's the point of travelling to somewhere new if you don't meet the locals, and really experience the culture? You might as well stay at home.

Interests

As mentioned before I am interested in politics and current affairs, and also history both ancient and modern. However aside from that I am a bit of a geek, I love sci-fi and fantasy whether it be film, television or literature. I'm also a fan of videogames, and I regularly play a huge range, mostly on PC. I also have a passion for outdoor activities though, particularly sailing which I can't get enough of. I also like hiking and rock-climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are hugely varied, and I tend to judge music not on genre but individual merit, and as a result I have music I like from probably every genre, from jazz to heavy metal to dancehall. My favourite movies include films such as Inception, and the LOtR trilogy. I tend to watch sci-fi and fantasy the most but I also have favourites from other genres such as comedy. Books are pretty much the same as movies, sci-fi and fantasy take the forefront.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If I were to be completely honest I would say that the really amazing thing is something I've got to look forward to in the future, however I realise that's boring so I'm going to say all the yachting I've done. (I can't pick out a particular thing... sorry!)
