About Me

Hello there!

My name is Kim and I love meeting other travellers. I have been regularly travelling all my life and strive to see every last part of this beautiful planet. At the moment I'm pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology at the university of Konstanz, Germany (my homecountry). If you're close by don't hesitate and write me! I might not always be able to offer accommodation (girls only, sorry guys!), but I will happily show you the city or take you on a hike. In summer I might even be able to take you sailing, but be aware that I don't sail on yachts but on jollyboats/dhingies...I also know the best pubs and bars with the cheapest student specials :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a nice alternative to airbnbs and hostels because you get to meet locals, not only other travellers. It is more than a cheap option to stay a night at a strange city, it is the chance to explore new cultures and to broaden one's mind.

Music, Movies, and Books

My fav TV show is probably GoT, but I enjoy a range of shows, books and movies! (just not Nicolas Sparks and alike :D). Other than GoT, I also liked Peaky Blinders, Vikings, Supernatural, and the list goes on and on... I'm not a big fan of movies because they don't spend enough time on character development.

As for books, I love reading and I eat through books (we call it bookworm here in Germany..). I just finished Wild by Cheryl Strayed and I enjoy most literature about adventures and travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

DONE:
Volunteering in Madagascar
Biking 500km through Germany
A road trip through Ireland
A road trip through the USA
A semester abroad in Maine, USA (at age 15)
Travelling alone.
Travelling with friends.
Travelling with family.

SAW:

Sunsets on a beach at the Lofoten
The cliffs in Ireland
A whale next to the very small boat we were on
A python on our path and lemurs up in the trees
Friendly and humble people all around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

LEARN: I try to learn new languages, so if you speak any of the languages I'm trying to learn at the moment (or any other language), I'm always glad to get some practice! As a foodie, I love learning about the food culture of the places I visit, I love going to markets and learning how to cook traditional dishes (in theory I learned to make caramellized coconut in Africa...in reality I burned it)

TEACH: I can teach German, show you how to cook great vegan meals or tell you more about German culture. Since I study biology, I also know quite a lot about our wildlife and ecosystems.

SHARE: Let's share a bottle of wine or a family sized portion of pasta and talk about everything that comes to mind! Sharing is caring, my friends!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very respectful of your privacy and your house rules. I would very much enjoy cooking together (I am veggie) or just talking about the travel life.
