About Me

Hey dudes, the names Kim from Melbourne Australia!
I always find it difficult to write about myself but here we are. Basically I'm a retired footballer who has now decided on a journey somewhat around the world. So far it's been pretty great, I've met some amazing people and sure had some awesome hosts. I'm trying to busk my way around everywhere so have been living on a pretty tight budget but that's made it all the more interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Even though I love my alone time, like Christopher mccandless writes at the end of into the wild - "happiness is only real when shared"

Interests

My main interests at the moment are in the discovery of what it means to be alive. I know that sounds pretty strange and empty but I sorta feel like it can't just be birth- party-work so you can party- family- die. And I think I'm slowly learning these things. Also music and soccer are obviously the other two

Music, Movies, and Books

As everyone says these days I like abit of everything but I play the acoustic guitar so my main style is indie folk sort of stuff. Damien rice, John Mayer and Bon iver are probably my three mains with a guilty pleasure of some Justin Bieber haha
I don't so much go for movies as I do actors, Shia lebouf, Ryan gosling and Tom hardy. Oh and can't forget the love of my life Natalie Portman (even with a shaved head 😍)
I've had a few books that have shaped my way of thinking. Sam harris's "waking up" is a main one as I'm into the beautiful middle way of combining science and eastern philosophy. "Eat pray love" is also great and played a part in my decision to travel. Also Paolo Coelho is great. "The Alchemist" and "the Zahir" are two that drew me right in

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went Boca juniors vs Riverplate in Argentina 3 times. I hear most people are lucky to get one in their lives :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what this section is asking🤔

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music, laughter, (I'm told I look at things too deeply) but i guess that means interesting conversations, I do like to cook not sure if I'm any good. And the warmest of hugs
