HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not currently traveling, but I love meeting new people and discovering how people live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with one couch surfing host and eventually ended up moving in and living there for 2 years! I have also done plenty of unofficial couchsurfing over the years. I love visiting old friends and new places, meeting new people, and getting to experience how other people live. I have also done a fair bit of house and pet sitting so I have been lucky to stay in many many different homes. I find people very fascinating and love to see how people create and inhabit their homes as a reflection of who they are.

Currently I live in a small apartment within my landlords' home in the mountains so I cannot host any guests.

I love the outdoors. I especially love to hike and soak in the sights, sound, smells, and textures of the outdoors. Like most people here, I would imagine, I enjoy exploring and adventuring! Seeing new places, meeting new people, and having new experiences - getting out of my comfort zone and learning new things. I am spiritually oriented so I am always looking for deeper connections. I love to share healing and energy practices and to explore ideas. I especially love movies and the stories they tell. I love food and really enjoy cooking.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Wow! So many to choose from now that I start contemplating this question. Here are three top moments in my life. Words, of course, do not fully convey how wonderfully amazing the experiences were but they will have to do!

I am a firewalk facilitator and during my training many years ago, I had an amazing experience of absolute timelessness and pure joy as I danced on the coals of the fire. This was the deepest experience of unfettered freedom I have ever had as I expressed the joy of my heart and celebrated with my whole being. It felt like I could have danced on the coals forever.

One of my other peak moments happened on a day that I was traipsing around with a friend at Sibley Park in Oakland, California. It was a beautiful sunny clear day and my friend and I were deeply connected, playing all over the park. At one moment I had an experience of recognizing and literally feeling the life and consciousness of all of the nature around me. I pondered the rocks and I was able to experience an awareness of their consciousness - that it isn't that they aren't alive, they just simply move so sloooooww that we humans as individuals don't even register as a blur to them. It was awe-inspiring.

The last experience I want to share was the sky and the landscape of Big Bend, Texas. I was there in November of 2010 and I was blown away by the subtle beauty of the incredible sky and expansive high desert landscape with its amazing textures and subtle and sublime colors of browns and greens and blues and pinks. Big Bend is one magical place!
