About Me

ABOUT ME

I graduated recently with a law degree from the University of Leeds, but I like to think I'm alot more interesting than just that.

I spent most of my life in a sleepy little town in Malaysia, attending an international school and being constantly marvelled and envious of my peers who travelled and came from all walks of life, all over the globe. I left home at the age of 17 and moved to the capital of Malaysia to pursue dreams of becoming a lawyer, and to get out of (what I then perceived as) suburban hell. I spent the last year in England where realised two things; firstly, how terribly unsophisticated I was in terms of worldly experiences, and secondly, how much I enjoy meeting new people, with names and coming from places I couldn't pronounce or heard of.

Now that I've conquered law school, I hope to slowly obtain the status of citizen of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

"And if you feel just like a tourist in the city you were born then it's time to go. And you find your destination with so many different places to call home."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the whole CouchSurfing experience! I'm moving to Toulouse, France this September with (so far) little or no grasp of the local language or friends, so I'll be more than happy to host while I'm there. I also have a house in Kuching, Malaysia where I grew up and my parents are, so there's plenty of room for hosting when I'm back for the summer holidays.

Interests

I'm admittedly a bit of a girly girl, so I do love indulging in frivolous exercises like shopping and wearing too much makeup. I've never been much of a party animal or social butterfly, but I thoroughly enjoy going out and meeting new people, attempting to converse with my limited language skills and silly sense of humour and sarcasm that doesn't always translate.
