Hey there,! I'm Kim 🌝

I am a very strange Cambodian girl. When I was 8 years old, I wanted to be an astronaut. Now if you think about it, there is nothing strange about wanting to be an astronaut. However, if you put yourself in Cambodia's society, the word astronaut is very unfamiliar. 0.50 person out of 10 people would know what an astronaut is. That was the first stage of me being a weirdo to my own society. At the age of 12, I fought with teacher and classmates, about the roles of girls. As teacher was teaching us about types of jobs, he mentioned men should do this, women should do this. I stood up, and said "Why men and women have to have different jobs?" and he said "They don't have to, but it's normal for men to work as policemen and women as housewives." I was not happy with his answer! In fact, I was furious. My mum told me "I can be whatever I want, as long as I can dream." I believed my mum over my teacher, and that was the right choice. Since I was very young, I have the mind of my own. No one could tell what to think. In my family, I listen to my mum the best. She is an reasonable and wise person. Even though she did not finish 1st grade, she is the best decision maker. My father is also a wise person, but he is not a very patience person, so it's best to listen to my mum.
I had encountered so many problems through my childhood as I was quite different. I used to being alone and enjoy my own company. Luckily, I had no experience with bullying, because I knew how to fight off bullies. At one point, I changed myself completely because I wanted to fit in with all my cool friends. But it didn't work out for me. Turned out, being your true self is the best self you can be. You don't have to change yourself for anybody. Let's be honest, you are actually pretty cool, and people who can see that are those who truly love you and understand you. Those people will come eventually, so just focus on being your best self. Trust me, I've passed that test.
I have learnt the hard way, but I am not regret one bit of my past. I'm glad that I've met those people, as they have helped shaping my life and made me the person I am today.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So there are a lot of requests of meet up but I hardly accepted since I'm not so free. My first meet up would be Cherly , a beautiful Chinese girl and the second meet up was this Malaysian man, Vincent, He's the best lol. The third one was a Singaporean his name is Joel.. But I call him Jo. They're all have different personalities and perspective... But I got along with them well. Lol. Maybe because we have the same purpose... " to enjoy life." 我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I learnt English by myself.

I sailed my own boat into the forest since

I was 7 years old.

My cats are all abandoned cats that I

saved on the street.

I learnt fishing since I was 10.

I'm 22 years old and I teach English to

teenagers.

Thing you should know about me:

I joined Couchsurfing back in 2014; the

reason I joined because I was eager to

travel! I was a student back then, not

that I'm not now; but a student without a

job or income so, traveling seemed

impossible!! So I joined in to find to any

possible ways to travel for free or

cheaper. After I joined

Couchsurfing I've met many interesting

people, people who come from different

country different culture. The greatest

thing I found out; even tho they came

from different places but they have

something in common; they enjoy life.

I understand a lot more about people

when I joined in here; I learned about

people, like no schools could teach me!!!.

Now I can travel places that I wanna go. I

sleep at 5 stars hotel. But why am I still

here? using Couchsurfing? I love meeting

people from here, they are the best

kinda people. I love helping them get to

know Cambodia, help them to have a

good time here. Because after all, travel

needs insider😉
