I grew up in Berlin and Bonn and spent wonderful years in Canada and Vietnam.
Last year I finished my undergraduate studies and moved from Göttingen (which is basically in the very center of Germany) to the coastal town of Kiel where I am now studying the ocean (with a focus on the tiny things aka. microbes and evolution). I absolutely love being in/under water and living somewhere near the ocean has always been my dream.
I also love any kind of (marine) animals. Grew up with two Axolotl (yes, this weird-looking newt from Mexico) and now I get to take care of a horde of seahorses in our lab :))

Apart from my studies and work, I tend to be a sports addict. Not so much team and ball sports though, but definitely anything that involves the “arts of movement”. While I was traveling in and around Asia 6 years ago, I became a I real martial arts enthusiast and now I am trying to not only carry on the skills but also the philosophy to people I meet along my journey back in Europe...
Anyways, of course you can also always get me excited about a bike ride or a hike in the nature :))

I would love to meet up and get to know new people, doesn't matter if locals, students, or travellers. I'm sure this city has many more exciting places and interesting activities to offer but I'm just at the beginning of exploring them all!

I wish I would spend more time on reading... My childhood was all about "Die Abenteuer des Bobo Siebenschläfer" and I knew the books by heart when I was only 3 years old. And now? Studying the ocean was definitely inspired by Schätzing's "Der Schwarm"... But I guess when it comes to reading, I like anything with a meaning. Or a thriller ;)
