About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To take each day as it comes and make the most of it
ABOUT ME
I've just come home to New Zealand after spending over a year away in various parts of Europe but mostly in France, where I was living and working.
New Zealand is lovely to see again but it's also a bit of a shock so I'm hoping to make the most of couchsurfing to help me to "travel at home"
PHILOSOPHY
To always be doing something that really challenges me - I don't want to always take the easy option.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm still relatively new to couchsurfing but I did surf with a few people while travelling through Europe in August - I think it's a fabulous concept and would like to participate as much as I can!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
as already mentioned, relatively limited but I've always had very good experiences and would like to have more!
Interests
I love reading and can talk about books for hours on end - have just begun to discover the wonderful experience of reading in French, so that's my focus at the moment.
By extension, I also enjoy writing and am hoping to (somehow!) make a career out of it.
I adore running (am mildly obssessed, actually) and pretty much anything that involves the outdoors - I'm lucky enough to have had a New Zealand childhood that involved year round outdoor activities like swimming, waterskiing, snowboarding, skiing, kayaking ...
I recently learned to scuba dive and am officially converted and looking forward to doing more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: at the moment I am enjoying Anna Gavalda. Rushdie, Garcia Marquez, Jorge Luis Borges are all favourite authors of mine. Faulkener's "The Sound and the Fury" is one of my all time favourite books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Diving with sharks in Tahiti was one of the most amazing a breath-taking experiences of my life.
A flamenco performance in a dingy underground bar in a backstreet of Granada was also right up there.
Countries I’ve Visited
