My name is Kimberley and I am a 28-year-old graduate student studying marriage and family therapy. I am newly married to my husband, Michael, who is a nurse. We recently honeymooned through Europe for 3 months and moved here to the Portland area from Hawaii so that I can earn my master’s degree. For the 4 years prior to this, I was a high school art and literature teacher in Hawaii. Michael and I are both open-minded and love learning about other people and the events and things that have shaped their lives and perspectives. Overall, we are quite laid back and easy to get along with. We enjoy trying new things and having good conversations with interesting people. We are Christian and believe in the simple philosophy of love.

I have couch surfed many times while traveling throughout Asia and Europe. I was surprised by the incredible hospitality of many of my hosts, and I met a lot of new friends and people I would even consider family. Their kindness and hospitality always inspired me, and I hope do the same and pay it forward to others now that my husband and I have the space.
