About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To find a way to sustainably live the kind of life that makes me happy.
ABOUT ME
I'm short and often bubbly. I am constantly singing and moving around. I am very curious and tend to want to ask a lot of questions, although sometimes I'm not so sure it's appropriate. I am very good at keeping myself amused and like to stay busy. At home, we have a giant dog of love and a yard that I wish I were better at growing things in. I will travel at most opportunities, with money usually being the biggest hindrance. I'm a huge fan of skill swaps and barter (I'm usually more than happy to cook for someone or help around the house if they've done me a good turn.) I'm working on learning the minimalist packing and am very excited about learning the various ways people like to streamline their experiences!
PHILOSOPHY
"Truth not won is not possessed. We are not entitled to truths for which we have not fought."
Basically, I tend to learn by doing. I tend to try by doing. Sometimes it takes a while for me to be ready, but once I've decided on something - I move. I love all the things that life has brought to me and all of the amazing things I have learned and experienced just from putting myself out there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're still unpacking in our home, but once all the books have migrated from boxes to shelves, we're hoping to host some folks in our area as well. The public transportation is not the greatest in our city, and we both work full-time, but it's a place to crash. I am also checking out the local message board and hope to make it out to a potluck soon (that cooking thing = yay!) The couch surfing community seems like the coolest group of people that I'm looking forward to getting to know!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not done anything yet, but am coming up on a time of travel. I'd love to get started here.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost anything. Some country and most of the more mainstream hip hop are not really my thing, but there are still songs/artists in both that I enjoy. My favorites tend to be: Any singer/songwriter. Most female vocalists. Folk/Celtic. Trip-Hop. Imogen Heap, Plumb, Poe, The Civil Wars, Missy Higgins, Doria Roberts, Julie Loyd, Gackt, BoA (British and Korean), Utada Hikaru, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Joan Baez. Lucius.
Movies: things that make me think. Horror. Fantastic concepts. I thought Interstellar was really well done.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have sang a high C on the stage at Carnegie Hall, I have lived out of my car by choice, and... (more to come, hopefully!)
Teach, Learn, Share
What I can do:
Reading music, VERY basic piano playing (if there's a piano), proper opera breathing, hula hooping (and how to make), making the hemp bracelet thing, excel goodness, very basic salsa step, math-type-things, how to make easy breakfasts for the whole week for super cheap.... errrr, that's all I got for now.
What I'd like to learn:
surfing! any and all sorts of dance, baking, survival-type skills
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, experiences, productivity tips, TED talks. Time, labor, attention. I'm always available for brainstorming.
