ABOUT ME

It's so hard to describe myself without reverting to my interests or my personal philosophy, both of which have their own section. I think I'm best described through my actions than through any words.

PHILOSOPHY

I consider myself to be postmodern, in the sense that I believe that all cultures, ethnicities, religions, perspectives, human activities and artifacts, all have their own sense of value.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed: 4 times in the Philippines (Puerto Princesa, Legazpi, Kalibo, Davao), 3 times in Ukraine (Simferopol, Yalta, Lviv), 1 time in Indonesia (Denpasar)

Hosted: 8 times in Quezon City, 1 time in Baguio

While in the Philippines I've also had the opportunity to join in a few CS events and meet people from CS, mostly in day trips to nearby places out of Manila or in events within Manila.

兴趣

I have many interests. My academic interests are in the humanities and social sciences, especially where it concerns topics like history, culture, and philosophy, which imply that my main interest lies in human affairs. In terms of what I like to do, I occupy my time doing many different things with many different groups of people, such as going to clubs and parties, movies, concerts, trips to attend festivals or visit new places out of town, outdoor hiking trips, or simply going around places in Manila. By myself I usually occupy my time with reading, playing video games, and surfing the internet.

Movies: I'm not much of a movie buff, but I tend to like movies about drama, horror, fantasy, history, or science fiction.
Music: I can appreciate most types of music, but I like rock music the most, particularly grunge and alternative rock.
Books: My taste in books is similar to my taste in movies, but I definitely spend more time reading so I'm a bit more critical about what I'll read.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One amazing thing I've done in my life was to live in Ukraine for two months. I was teaching some students (age 13-17) about Philippine culture in the Berdyansk Municipal Lyceum, and encouraging them to communicate in English. While I was in Ukraine, I was able to travel around the country and experience some things for the first time like going to a ballet in an opera house.

Through my travels around the country I hope to learn more about the diverse cultures and society of the Philippines that I can communicate to others when I travel around the world, which is my plan after traveling around the Philippines. Besides learning about the Philippines, I'm always interested in learning more about other countries as well.
