About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To figure out what it's all about

PHILOSOPHY

"There are things you do because they feel right & they may make no sense & they may make no money & it may be the real reason we are here: to love each other & to eat each other's cooking & say it was good"
-Brian Andreas

Music, Movies, and Books

way too many to list, but here are a few...

movies: the princess bride, almost famous, airplane!, disney's robin hood, roman holiday, two days in paris, le diner de cons, edward scissorhands, amelie, the brain that wouldn't die and other old black and white movies with horrible special effects

music: ryan adams, andrew bird, bon iver, wilco, bob dylan, iron & wine...mostly chill, acoustic stuff when i'm just hanging out, but I enjoy almost every and any other kind of music as well (well, maybe except for most country...)

books: everything is illuminated, life of pi, the giver, east of eden, me talk pretty one day, the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, vonnegut

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-ziplining through the Costa Rican rainforest
-seakayaking with dolphins in Florida
-playing with a baby anteater!!
-hiking, camping, or really anything that gets you away from the rush of modern life is always amazing. The most memorable hiking experiences for me so far have been backpacking for four days in the Big Horn Mountains (minus the mosquitos!), and a day hike up to Mt. Grona, above Lake Como in Italy. Truly spectacular views!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to, among other things, play the violin, knit, kayak, make intricate friendship bracelets with embroidery floss (I was a camp counselor for three summers)...and I make the best chocolate zucchini bread (don't knock it til you try it!) though I have to give my mom credit for the recipe!
I speak French pretty well, and started learning Spanish. Would eventually like to add German and Italian to the list...
I would love to be able to whistle, but I'm beginning to belive I'm a hopeless case!
