I'm a 30-year-old native of Helsinki. I recently graduated from the University of Helsinki, majoring in sociology. I'm curious and open-minded about life and love learning new skills and hearing different perspectives. I lived in Belgium as a kid and have studied in international schools, so I'm used to being around people from different backgrounds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend and I have heard good things about Couchsurfing from friends and want to give it a try. We've got a nice apartment in a lively neighbourhood with two couches we want to share with travelers. We've lived in Helsinki for ages and are happy to give tips and guidance on what to do in the city.
We also hope to stay with fellow couchsurfers on our own travels.

Interests

My hobbies include climbing, cycling, cooking and reading. I enjoy being outdoors - be it sitting in a park with friends, beers and a footbag or foraging for wild herbs and berries in a forest. Then again, I don't mind cooking at home or spending time in a bar in good company.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a variety of music from punk to hip-hop to reggae to folk (to list a few).
I like dark comedies (the Coen brothers are a definite favourite), dramas and action movies.
Favourite authors include Hunter S. Thompson, Irvine Welsh and Joseph Heller.
I also love the work of David Simon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new skills and hear about new ideas. I'll share experiences, stories, a meal and a drink and teach what not to do.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll buy them a beer, share experiences and help out with housework (from cooking to cleaning)
