ABOUT ME

Ex-ex-pat: spent many years in Japan, USA, Ireland, Switzerland; now happily back in Berlin (OK, sometimes I am missing the the ex-pat life). Currently taking an extra-long break from work.

Would call myself fun, easily excitable, adventurous, enthusiastic, outgoing, loyal and resourcefull.

PHILOSOPHY

Still trying to figure this one out. Have only been working on it for about 20 years, so there is still hope that I will eventually get it!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Last year a friend and me "accidentially" ended up on Con Dao island, about 200kms into the South Chinese Sea from Saigon. This was one of the weirdest experiences I ever had in Asia: the island used to be a prison camp (we didn`t know this before getting there...) during the Indochine and early Vietnam war years. The main village looks like a French colony from the 1920ies. We stayed in a villa (most likely previously occupied by the prison camp commander) with original turn-of-the-century furniture. Even the bicycles we got were from the 1920ies. Initially frustrated by the weirdnes and the inability to escape quickly, we eventually got used to the island´s atmosphere and had a really great time.
