About Me
I try to find something new and exciting in my life every day.
Punctuality is the thief of time - Oscar Wilde
I grew up in Zelenograd on the northwestern edge of Moscow and spent most of my teens in Hanover, Germany. After obtaining my German high school degree (Abitur) in Hanover and finishing Russian high school at the Russian Embassy School in Berlin, I moved to Mannheim to pursue a degree in Economics. Tied by the pandemic, I decided against moving in this stage of my life and am pursuing my Master of Economics in Mannheim. I am temporarily moving to Taipei in September 2023. In the summer of 2022, I am on a long - partially overland - trip from Germany to Taiwan. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling is much more amazing if you can share the moment. You get a chance to feel and experience a place through the people or travel without leaving your home. Finally, courchsurfing helps seeing the world through a different lense possible and provides me with the opportunity to escape my bubble!

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music is pretty much very diverse. I particularly enjoy Classic, Modern and Alternative Rock, 70s - 90s music and Techno. However, there are many other genres which are as amazing to listen and a wide variety of cool foreign-language songs. Show me your taste in music and there is a good chance I will like it! It's similar to Bong Joo Hong's overcoming of the "1-inch-tall barrier of subtitles".
Music becomes even more amazing than it already is, if it is loud or live or both!
I used to watch a lot of films before I went to university. More recently, time has been a scarce resource, so I tend to stick to the occasional indie movie. If you are a film connoisseur, I'll be very happy to know/see what you like and why. Also small cinemas are the best!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been to more than 50 amazing countries (depends on how you count) and had always a great time at home, hence I struggle to decide on a single thing - sometimes the most memorable moments are the most simple ones.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have tought mathematics for undergraduate economists at university level, so I might help you with your math homework :D I also can help you with your Russian or German and if we're in Mannheim, ask me to show you around. I am not a very gifted cook, but it's getting better.
Nonetheless, sharing and learning has not to be tangible or material and the experience of couchsurfing and meeting people is often most enriching where we least expect it.
