1. So many different people, personalities, and life experiences. So little time. ALL quality relationships evolve between people who were previously strangers. Everyone's got something cool to share, it's my job to find out what that is... This is why I like to host.

2. Even if we don't totally gel (or you're exhausted from travel... or I'm in a busy patch at work and can't hang out as much as I'd like)... I have found most people on Couchsurfing are respectful (except for that 7% "just looking for a free place to stay"... you know who you are, don't even ask). I have a great apartment in a vibrant neighborhood near lots of fun stuff! And the Thompson Hotel next door charges too much!... so why do that when you can just stay here?

3. When I'm visiting new places, I also hope to find kind and open-minded hosts who believe in the ideas above, and enjoy supporting fellow travelers.
