About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover the world.

ABOUT ME

I graduated from the University of manitoba with a bachelor of arts; my major was anthropology and my minor was classical studies. Currently, I'm the assistant general manager at an amazing local restaurant.

I work at the airport, so
I get to talk to people from all over the world every day. I've been here a year and am still learning new and interesting things from the travelers that pass through my restaurant.

I really enjoy meeting and talking with people over a good cup of coffee. Stephen and I love going for bike rides and playing boardgames, good food, good drinks, and good company!

PHILOSOPHY

To be happy every single day by doing what makes me happy, and spreading that happiness and positivity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only surfed with my husband Stephen in France, but we've hosted a few times here at home in Winnipeg. It's been such a great experience to meet people from around the world!

Interests

Anthropology and archaeology are my first loves. There's something magical in learning about a far away land from a long ago time.

I love learning about cultures from around the world! I've found that the best way to learn about a culture is to experience it first hand. That's why Stephen and I want to travel.

On my days off from work, I can often be found reading a good book or watching a good movie. Recently I've taken up quilting with my mom; it's quite relaxing. I'm also trying to regularly practice yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a little bit of everything mostly country and folk, or something with a little bit of pop that you can dance to.

Movies I watch include anything Disney; most vampire films, my favorite being Queen of the Damned; and of course romantic comedies because they make the world seem like anything is possible. One of my all time favorite romcoms is Love Actually.

I read a lot! Mostly I enjoy a book with great comedic timing. I like to get to know the characters and to feel what they feel. My favorite authors include: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christopher Moore, Hannah Howell, and Annette Blair.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done in my life was to meet my soulmate. Other than that, I was lucky enough to work on a Roman settlement site in Menorca, Spain where I helped excavate a necropolis.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a great Baker! I can teach you delicious simple recipes. Or we can parle en français!

I've been slowly increasing my cooking knowledge. Stephen's the better cook, but we love making things in the kitchen.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Spain, United States
