About Me

Paul and I were married in 2011 and currently live in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont as we navigate parenthood. I am moving back into the workforce after an extended maternity leave. Our goal is that I work full time and Paul will stay home with the kids. We are almost there!

We love to support our local economy by buying our food locally, supporting local artisans, participating in local community events. We have lived in this area since 2016 and are still exploring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When we lived in Connecticut, we hosted quite a few couchsurfers and really enjoyed the experience. We would love to do that again, but just aren't comfortable with our young kids. I would like to share my local perspective with travelers though so I would love to offer advice or hang out a bit. We can definitely offer some advice for traveling the are with kids!

Interests

Music, hiking, relaxing, knitting, learning, yoga, boot camp, wine, coffee. We don't ski! But I am trying to learn to cross-country ski. Though we live in a rural area we do love cities. We go to Burlington & Montréal often.

Music, Movies, and Books

Cider House Rules, M.I.A., Tegan&Sara, Autechre, The Help, The Art of Racing in the Rain, Downton Abbey, Donnie Darko, On the Road, Shock Doctrine, Modern Family, 127 Hours, Wicked, This is Us, Neko Case, The Cartel. We have a Spotify account.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gonna be a little cliché and say pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and parenting.

But looking back on our pre-parent days, the event that stands out is going to the Sasquatch music festival together in 2009.

Teach, Learn, Share

Kirsten has great packing tips, knows knitting.

Paul knows some HTML, how to make good coffee, play drums, make your recording sound good.

Encouragement to get out and travel with your kids! It can be frustrating and you certainly need to modify your itinerary, but we have found it to be very rewarding.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We don't plan to surf anytime soon.
