About Me

CURRENT MISSION

outdoor adventures

ABOUT ME

Love the outdoors, hiking, climbing, camping, and swimming in lakes and rivers. Always up for new experiences, sleeping in cave halfway up a cliff for example! I have an interest in nature and conservation and am always looking to improve my knowledge and skills with foraging courses etc. Love cooking and eating. And of course travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

The golden rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated and the inversion of the golden rule: treat ourselves as we would wish to treat someone we loved

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couchsurfing but have always had the best travelling experiences when I've stayed with locals who know the non-tourist/off the beaten-track places to visit.

Interests

Aside from outdoors adventures, I like reading (mainly fantasy novels with Neil Gaiman being a favourite). I write short stories with a Grimm brothers feel to them. I love cooking and especially cooking using foraged ingredients. I also sing in a choir and go lindy hop dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: David Lynch & Oliver Stone films e.g. Mulholland drive; Blue Velvet; Natural Born Killers; U-Turn.
Music: metal, country & folk e.g. NIN; Tool; Cadillac Three.
Books: Neil Gaiman is a favourite as is Phillip K. Dick

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping in a cave halfway up a cliff has to top it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm good at wildlife surveying. If we're on a walk I can usually identify quite a few species of fungi, plant and wildlife.
