About Me

A research fellow trying to understand primate communication! I study wild bonobos, chimpanzees, and other primates.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling with my roommates at university, I always relied on them to organise Couchsurfing. We stayed in some really cool places on the way down from Vancouver to Southern California (including a tree house in a red wood on the campus of [an unnamed university]).

Now I'm using Couchsurfing mainly when I travel to academic conferences because it's nice to stay in a proper home, rather than a hotel, and meet new people.

We haven't been able to host for a while but are hoping to be able to again soon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching a leatherback turtle lay her eggs on a beach in Costa Rica. Sitting on one end of a log while a group of bonobos groomed at the other end.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty low-maintenance - if you need your peace and quiet, I'm happy to occupy myself with a book. But likewise, I really enjoy cooking together or going on walks.
