About Me

Currently a master’s in Public Health student who still hasn’t gotten rid of the travel bug (and feeling dire that I ever will). Grew up on a small family farm in Hawaii and now going into medicine as a passion, and avenue to hopefully help heal the wonderful people of this world. Love slow mornings of coffee, hikes through forests, or trying anything new.

Music, Movies, and Books

Omg too many. I’m a total book/movie/music nerd! Some favs of each:

Books: 100 Years of Solitude, Kafka on the Shore, Breakfast of Champions

Movies: Amelie, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Parasite, Interstellar

Music: Beach House, The National, Japanese Breakfast, Joanna Newsom

Reading Invisible Cities by Calvino changed how I see the world and traveling. I always want to learn of new literature, as I love books but spent many years not reading as many.

Love movies, video games, hiking, traveling, farming, and speaking of these or your hobbies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’m currently writing a book! I haven’t done it, and it’s not that good, so really stretching the definition of “amazing thing I’ve done” here!

Teach, Learn, Share

Honestly, I love learning about people. I feel like the unique perspective on life each person has is fascinating. Sometimes walking, I ponder the unique life circumstances of an individual and just wonder how they’ve ended up there! I also just love seeing someone’s favorite spot in a place - a place that is uniquely special to someone is one of life’s great joys!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think I’ve had some unique life experiences for a boring academic, so sharing some indie movie, book, music, video game reccs, discussions of art, pondering of the meaning of the universe under stars, or at the very least a couple of beers.
