About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to figure out where life could bring me... I want to learn a lot, meet a lot of people, take and give all I can.

ABOUT ME

Who am I ? That's a tough question to answer. Some of my friends told me I've been raised like a boy. It made me laugh. I guess I have. My mother has always wanted me to be strong and independant. I think she did a good score on reaching her goal :).

My parents raised me with severity at first. Then they knew how to let things go. It was with a lot of love, always. I was not raised in faith. I've never felt the need to believe in God. Though I have deep respect for those who do. I like to share opinions about faith because there are as much reasons of believing as people on Earth. I want to understand.

I was a well-behaved kid, I got my scientific baccalaureate, now I am studying engineering and it gave me the opportunity to travel. That made me grow so much. It is especially thanks to the people I meet. Now I am just thinking that it really doesn't matter where you're from or how you've been educated. What matters is what you decide to do with the opportunities that are given to you.

This is why I just love meeting people rich of knowledge, stories, experience, wiseness, adventures. Through them, I can discover and learn so much.

This gap-year is a real adventure that has moved a lot of things inside my heart. I am from Paris but it doesn't mean much anymore. I want to go on the extreme opposite way: I want to live wild.

PHILOSOPHY

To give and take all I can. Enjoy everyday as much as possible, don't expect anything from tomorrow but believe in it.

Live life, don't dream it but live your dreams. Do thing because you want to, don't wonder if it's the right thing to do or not. The only thing to make sure is to respect you and people around you, always.

Sometimes it is hard to follow this philosophy. Not thinking about the future too much is difficult, not expecting anything is, as well. Though life is here to remind me, and I keep going further.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people and surf their couch. I like to get involved in some discussion on the CS website when I am not travelling. This way I still learn and share a lot with travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first hosting experience thanks to Jackson. I truly enjoyed it. It is crazy to realize we can spend such good times with persons who come at your place being strangers at first. They finally leave being what looks more like a friend.

Salah came and Daniel after him. Each time is different and every one is enriching.

Then I got the opportunity to couchsurf in Porto at Fernando's place. It was great as well. I got to know a new place and new travel ideas.

I think hosting and surfing are similar and complementary. You give more when you surf and you receive more when you host. Pretty paradoxical but it is the way it works to me.

Interests

I love being outdoors and work hard there. Then it feels so good to have a nap on the grass, in the sun. Cities are not good enough for this kind of thing so I keep them for visiting and getting to know cultures. Still, I am attached to Beauvais, the town where I have studied agro-ecology.

Other than that, I do horseback riding when I can, snowboarding back in France when I spend the winter there. I like to draw, read, cook for people... I got to try climbing. I liked it a lot. Recently I got into surfing. Then I plan on getting in parachuting. Just crazy stuff :) I enjoy doing stained glass, mosaic, masonry... Basically, I want to learn to do every manual thing. I still have pottery on my list. I want to know how to create and make a bunch of useful stuff.

I like talks that make me think, I like to meet different points of view and try to understand them. Learning from experiences is something I look for. Experiences I have, experiences we tell me. This is something important to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am discovering a lot about music actually! I've had never paid attention to singers and songs before. No more than everyone pretty much. Now I try to find new things every time I get to listen to music.

I like to read. When people are disappointing I like to get into a good story... till I need to interact with people again.

I enjoy movies. They can make you dream as much as books. I love to watch them in english and others languages. I like to hear the different accents.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been doing an internship in California for 5 months two years ago. It made me grow up so much. At the beginning I wondered every day, then I really felt at home so far away from my hometown. I met amazing people, did things I would have never done in France. Anything was possible. I decided to do a road trip on impulse and it was a great experience. I saw beautiful landscapes.

Now I am travelling again. I saved a whole year for this and I feel, this is what real life is about. I am tasting something very special right here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach french and some french recipes. It's always a great pleasure to share with people and let them know more about the french culture.
I'd enjoy sharing a hard hike or a climb, even a horseback ride. Since I got into surf I look forward to learn from surfers now. I'd gladly tell what I know and feel about the ocean and waves. I'd like to learn how to play guitar, and share thoughts on any good subject.
