I studied studio art: photography, printmaking and painting at university along with education. I really enjoy creating things and while I love being on the road- I'm looking forward to taking all the things I've seen during these last ten months away And making some new work when I get home!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Arriving in New Zealand has been quite the culture shock to say the least when it comes to the cost of living. 3-5$ for a private room in India vs 25$ for a dorm bed here... So first and foremost, to meet awesome local people and hear of great things to explore in the area but also to save a couple dollars! My ex boyfriend used to host all the time in Boston, and while we traveled in Peru we used to meet up with local people for food or drinks and I always thought that was really cool so now I want to try! Also, I'm a southern so huge on hospitality so love the idea of meeting people and someday being able to host them in my hometown.

Interests

I love to travel, see the world, meet new people, learn about different cultures, their art and customs. My favorite thing to do is just walk around a new city and get lost in the streets. Spend a day finding the best coffee shop, book store, or just street that I enjoy.

I love to read! I'm into historical fiction that takes you to another country and teaches you about the area. So some of my favorites would be Exodus, The Power of One, Drifters, I Am Malala, A Tale of Two Cities...

My travel to partner is a yoga teacher so can lead a yoga class. I can do art classes! Or if you need interior decorating advice id love to help!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love working with children so could do a fun art lesson! I also, enjoy cooking- (chopping up vegetables and making something tasty to eat- but in no means a fancy chef!) so would love to make dinner!
