I guess I've been part of the couchsurfing scene for long enough to be considered old school. It's hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since my first time using it...
I'm beginning yet another backpacking trip, this time in Japan, and I'm hoping to find an active cs community in this country that is so bizarre and foreign and totally intriguing to me. I generally associate with punks and anarchists and artists but I love all people, really, and find motivation in just meeting anyone genuine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted tons, surfed (never enough), and spread word to the good. I've had some insane nights, stomach-wrenching laughs, and countless inspiring conversations.
I first heard about csing in 2007, started in 2008, and really think it is a social network I will always use.
Reading, outdoors and travel, converse and debate, good and bad beer, anarchism, pushing myself, and playing music.

Music, Movies, and Books
Nabokov, Cormac McCarthy, William Styron, Noam Chomsky, Eduardo Galeano, John Steinbeck, Robert Penn Warren, Autobiography of Malcolm X.
Townes Van Zandt, The Strokes, Justin Townes Earle, Pavement, Chopin, Hank Williams, Father John Misty, Neutral Milk Hotel. I like street music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling has taught me to say fuck it and embrace the hard times, to laugh when scared.
