Ahoj!
My name is Klara, I am originally from Prague, but am currently living in Brisbane doing a study-abroad program at UQ.
I am a student of life, an adventure addict, and a sucker for stories! I study languages, cultures, and literature - so basically life. I find it almost impossible to not be exited about everything all the time. I am a professional, critically-acclaimed shower singer. I am a dog person, because I have yet to meet a cat that wouldn't hate me, passionately. I read. I write. I compose sometimes. I laugh constantly.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and learning about their way of life and listening to their stories in my favorite thing to do in life. And because I spend most of my time traveling, reading, and translating and not working in a big corporate company, I live life on a budget tight as Jennifer Lopez' pants.
Couchsurfing is something I've always wanted to try to meet new people, hear their stories, see their cities through their eyes. Also, I have an enormous appreciation for couches.

My favorite band is Mumford & Sons. The combination of their music, Marcus Mumford's voice, and their lyrics does inexplicable things to my body and soul. I love female musicians especially folk musicians like Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, Joanna Newsom, Ingrid Michaelson, Katie Noonan, Agnes Obel, but also more pop-ish singers like Adele and Sia, who are in my opinion the best voices of our generation.

Books are a major part of my life and I can never pick a favorite one. I love most books, collect them and have a very Rory-Gilmore-relationship with them. I love reading the classics (Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Shakespeare, Harper Lee, George Orwell) as well as contemporary fiction (Zusak's The Book Thief and Doerr's All the Light We Cannot See among my recent favorites), but I also love to relax reading humorous books by the likes of Trevor Noah, Graham Nortan, Caitlin Moran, or Jenny Lawson. I could go all day...

I am a big Tarantino and Nolan fan.

I don't know if I can say that I've done something amazing, but amazing things have happened when I was around.
I was once crowned a Cambodian princess by a group of Cambodian kids I played with when I visited a Buddhist temple.
I had a Hawaiian sea turtle wave at me. She totally did. No doubt about it. She waved.
With a few friends I was a part of an concert that combined an amazingly talented blind choir and a few awesome Czech bands.
I've written two full length plays.

My enthusiasm for everything. My background in language learning and teaching. I can talk about anything for hours (I do need to be stopped sometimes). I can make a bunch of pretty good Italian dishes.
