Overview
About Me
Originally from the mountain valley town of Moscow, Idaho, U.S.A., I moved to Boston, MA for school at Northeastern University, where I am in my fourth out of five years in a program to get my bachelor's degree in computer science and business. After graduation, I would like to consider working somewhere in Europe for at least a few years within the next ten years.
I highly value education, and part of that entails learning more about the world. In the summers during high school, my dad would let me accompany him on international trips where he taught university classes abroad. This sparked my interest in travel. I want to travel most of the world by the end of my life. Ideally, I would be able to travel between places for the next ten years and continue to work as I move around (the benefits of being a software developer).
I am also interested in learning as many languages as I can throughout my life. I am comfortable reading in many languages now, but speaking and writing is more difficult for me.
Having grown up in the mountains, I highly enjoy mountain sports. I also enjoy water sports, such as kayaking, canoeing, and rafting. I have been paragliding once and loved it. I hope to go many more times throughout my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am backing around Europe in May and June 2016 and need places to stay in cities while I am not camping in the countryside!
After I am back in Boston, I am willing to host people! Also, I have so far been unsuccessful in finding somebody to stay in my room while I am gone, so there may be a full room for someone to stay in during my trip. If you are interested, contact me, and I will put you in contact with my roommates.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Classical, classic rock, rock, blues, folk, world, new age/easy listening
Movies: I usually prefer movies made outside the U.S. My favorite movie is a six-hour Italian film, La Meglio Gioventú, because it covers a wide variety of themes of life over a deep storyline.
Books: I have not spent signficant time reading for pleasure in recent years. The last series I read was A Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones), which I enjoyed.
