About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling as cheaply as possible out of my car. I'm applying for teaching positions everywhere I can and I'm trying to get to interviews as cheaply as I can so save money for more travel!
ABOUT ME
I'm going to be graduating from ASU with my PhD in neuroscience (I'll happily talk science with you until we're both exhausted). My specialty is proprioception assessment specifically looking to improve rehabilitation protocols in clinics. I graduated from Oregon State University with my degree in Computer Science and a minor in Psychology.
I am truly a nerd at heart and love technology and random conversations about pretty much anything. I enjoy a good drink so any amazing cocktail bars in your area I'd love to hear about. If you let me crash on your couch I'll happily buy you a drink and play a game of pool (even though I'm pretty bad).
PHILOSOPHY
One step at a time as long as it's toward a worthwhile goal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm using this to meet amazing people who share a vision of the world that isn't as scary as a lot of people think it is. People are always willing to help if you know how to ask and be respectful about it. I'm looking to surf around right now but will hopefully have a place where I can host in the near future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I came down to ASU for an interview I stayed with a grad student in the Masters of Fine Arts program and it was great! A cool dog to hang out with and she even had a small get together with friends so I could ask lots of questions about what it was like in Arizona!
Interests
Photography, computers, music, brains (neuroscience).
I'm always up for an awesome conversation where you truly get to know another person. I've spend a lot of time trying to deal with philosophical concepts to find a truth that I can really hang on to. Of course I like going to get a decent drink and just hanging out too.

Music, Movies, and Books
Eternal sunshine, butterfly effect, inception, garden state and many many more.
Music is an ever shifting target for me. On the long term what I listen to has shifted but there are always some things that I always go back to for the comfort they gave me when I was younger. Modest mouse being one of my all time favorites as well as the soundtrack to garden state being a massive influence on the music that I listen to today. Recent favorites include the wombats, sea wolf, childish gambino, the kooks, gaslight anthem, and the national along with classics like blink182, all america rejects, frou frou, and the shins. There's a ton more but there's no way I could list them all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Nine mile backpacking trip into Francis Lake and ending up seeing a blackhawk helicopter fly directly over my camp to airlift somebody with a broken leg out.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anyone and everyone. Everybody I meet knows something I don't. It's just a matter of having the right conversation or asking the right questions.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to bring along some of my favorite music to leave them as a parting gift.
And of course I can always talk about the science world and the work that I've done in my PhD and all the people I know working to try and improve the world around them through deeper understanding of how the world and our minds work.
