About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Putting the bicycle back in Bicycle Kingdom.

ABOUT ME

I'm a big fan of spending energy doing different things. I love to use a bicycle to explore my world. I try to remind myself never to shy away from anything that seems out of the ordinary or difficult. Every experience is worth it! Not terribly talkative, but this doesn't stop me from being rather outgoing.

PHILOSOPHY

My whole life has been about coming close and I suppose it's what got me here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hoping to figure this out. I really enjoying meeting new faces and make friends of them. I'm a huge fan of communication, sharing ideas, pushing buttons and exploration.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very little, but hoping to grow with it. I've had other friends make great acquaintances with this project. Once at a dinner with a number of people living in Beijing and travelers alike, a friend of mine met a girl who's request he'd ignored on CS. She ended up staying the remainder of her time at at his place regardless of his embarrassment.

Interests

Bicycling, bicycling, bicycling. I love to explore new places and meet people through this two-wheel machine. The world seems to open up when you travel around with this metal companion. Food, language, culture, and experience all seem to blend around this one passion.

Anything really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I decided to move to Inner Mongolia on a whim. Two years before I remember telling a friend I'd never do such a thing. After over 24 hours of nonstop flights and trains, throngs of people and a blur of unusual places, I stepped into the cool morning air of the city I'd call home for the year and just thought, well this will be quite the journey.

Spending this past Spring Festival (春节) in Beijing in an apartment overlooking the central hutong part of the city as it lit up in fireworks to celebrate the arrival of the holiday.

Eating excessive amounts of boiled meat and drinking excessive amounts of liquor with the painfully kindhearted and enthusiastic locals of smalltown Inner Mongolia.
