CURRENT MISSION

I am trying to experience as many new things as possible, so this summer I am visiting a friend who is studying abroad in Bristol, England. I am flying to London to see her.

ABOUT ME

I have many interests and passions in my life besides my education and my job. As an English major, I love to read and write. I write in a journal daily, and I love reading fiction. I'm not picky about the genre; if a friend or acquaintance suggests a book to me, I will more than likely pick it up and give it a try. I love being outside and participating in outdoor activities: biking, walking, running, swimming, simply sitting outside and enjoying nature. I am an avid volleyball player as well. I'm athletic and can be competitive, depending on the sport or game. I am an easygoing, friendly person who doesn't take life too seriously. I can be shy when I first meet people, but I will soon open up and laugh along with anyone.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to the fullest each day. When negative things happen to me, I take everything in stride and put a smile on my face. I don't let life get me down, and I love to laugh and smile!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have never participated in CouchSurfing before. I learned about the concept through a friend who is currently studying abroad in Bristol, England. We are looking for couches to surf in London when I come to visit her during the first two weeks in June!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I don't watch a lot of movies because I'm a bit fidgety, and I don't always have the patience to sit through a movie. I like comedies and dramatic films. Some favorites are "Gladiator," "Harold and Maude," "Ghost World," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Across the Universe"
Music: I will listen to any type of music. I don't have strong opinions about different artists and genres. I like music with good beats for dancing, and I think there is a right type of music for every mood.
Books: I love reading fiction. I enjoy books with characters who go through some kind of struggle that permanently changes them. I need to be able to relate to the characters and share in their experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my first trip out of the country, I flew overseas by myself to meet a friend in a foreign airport. It was one of the most exciting but frightening experiences of my life! Luckily, everything went smoothly.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach others how to knit, I can discuss authors and pieces of literature, I have some cooking and baking skills, and I can share my passion for volleyball and life!
