ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going guy from the UK who loves adventure, adrenaline, meeting people and exploring places.

I studied music at Nottingham University (I play the cello, piano, organ and some ukulele; hope to learn tabla, accordion and guitar). I especially loved studying music psychology, experimental music and world music. I read, write, listen to music, climb (anything), slackline, skydive, bake cakes, cook, explore new places, and one of my favourite activities is to sit down and watch a film with a chocolate cake and cuppa tea.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess the same as most people on CouchSurfing: live every day as much as possible and experience as much as possible, and if you want to do something, go ahead and figure it into your life, because you can almost definitely do it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After my first accidental experience in Macau, which was fantastic, I spent a really cool time hitchhiking and couchsurfing down through France and Spain, where people were incredibly helpful and fun. Then, again, in a bunch of cities in South America and Malaysia. I have yet to host, because I have yet to own my own place, but I definitely plan to. One day I will repay all of the unconditional kindness people have offered me.

Intereses

Climbing/bouldering, cooking, skydiving, travelling, slacklining, baking, juggling, listening to/playing music, trying new stuff and meeting new people.

Música, películas y libros

A few bands: The Books, Alt-J, Asgeir Everything Everything, Beirut, Múm, Mice Parade, Pogo. And when I get bored of that lot, a bit of Sibelius, Shostakovich and Dvorak never goes amiss.

A few movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Spirited Away, Pan's Labyrinth, The Truman Show. I'm not particularly fussy though, I generally love watching any films.

I do love a good book, can't think of any in particular that I loved. As a kid I was a huge Potterhead, and generally love fiction.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I could teach you how to play something basic on most instruments, or I could teach you to play something amazing on the piano, cello or uke. I could definitely share my knowledge about building with cob (mud), about travelling cheaply, hitchhiking and wild camping.
