About Me

CURRENT MISSION

mission?

ABOUT ME

I renovate old houses and lease them. I'm thinking about getting into the 'flipping' business but I'm not sure about the market right now. I live on the north side of town on a ridge with a decent view of the mountains and downtown. I'm about 45 minutes or so from Dollywood , Gatlinburg and The Great Smoky Mountains

PHILOSOPHY

Just something of interest:

-If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:
There would be:

57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
8 Africans

_
52 would be female
48 would be male
_
70 would be non-white
30 would be white
_
70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian
_
89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual
_
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from
the United States.
_
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education
1 would own a computer

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm going to borrow this quote from another surfer because I think it fits quite well:
"I prefer to do all things "as the locals do" and try to avoid long lines of tourists. I do not like that there is a Hilton in Zanzibar to which people will travel and then come home to Dallas or Chicago and say, "I went to Zanzibar", but they really did not go to Zanzibar at all, they just went to the Hilton."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have now couchsurfed quite a bit. I think it's a wonderful idea. It's good to get the truly local perspective

Interests

Some things I like: cooking, gardening, bicycling, kayaking, hiking, camping, reading, people watching, remodeling old houses, movies, great conversation, remodeling old houses, dining out/dining in, parties, sun worshipping, star gazing, road trips, roller coasters, traveling, bourbon, etc.
