I'm always looking for interesting places to see and people to meet, trying to have some fun while walking this earth. What I already know and like you will find below but what I really love is doing something new. So if you can teach me something I have never done before I would love to meet you.

Interests

I like to get to know new people, places, things. I like to do anything outdoors, reading, gaming (boardgames as well as rpgs) and while my passion is Volleyball, I really love all kinds of sports (if you come up with something I don't know and are willing to teach me, I'd like to try it).
When I am away from home I prefer to get to know the places I am visiting not only as a tourist, which is one of the reasons couchsurfing is such a great community - you can always find someone eager to share some stories about their hometown and maybe to show some of their favorite places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer handmade music but within that limitation I listen to folk, country, rock, metal and even the occasional classical concert or jazz. The movies I have watched most often and would again and again are 4 Weddings and a Funeral, Dead Poet's Society, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Lord of the Rings and my single most favorite TV series is Firefly which, unfortunately, got cancelled after only one season.
Bookwise my father started me off on fantasy by giving me the Lord of the Rings when I was twelve and I think I got the complete works of Terry Pratchett. I really love a good thriller though and those can really glue me to the pages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun rise from the top of Hale'akala on Hawai'i, scuba diving with sharks and sea turtles, get around the bustling city of Cairo on my own (ok, that's three).

Teach, Learn, Share

If you like being outdoors but have never heard of geocaching I can bring a gps and show you some places in your area even you may not have heard about (I was surprised what I could find in my own backyard when I started). I can also tell a thing or two about playing and refereeing Volleyball or about scubadiving (minus the refereeing part obviously).

What I Can Share with Hosts

While I am not an amazingly creative chef I still like to cook and could cook dinner (or order pizza if you are hungry and in a hurry). I can also juggle with 3 balls and drop 4 balls to the floor in an entertaining fashion.
