About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find my place on this planet... or another :)

ABOUT ME

Is it all the space I can use, this little frame here? Then you will have to wait until I release my biography... or get to know me :)

PHILOSOPHY

*Behave yourself and if you don't, make sure you are having a good time
*Life consists of little moments - catch them! (=carpe diem)
*Never frown because you never know who will fall in love with your smile :)
*Chocoholic and proud of it!
*The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it - [Oscar Wilde]
*Everything in moderation, including moderation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am on a mission to convert people to CS and abolish all misleading stereotypes. My friends/colleagues say: "Oh Ewa, you and your CouchSurfing!" But the positive awareness has grown and is spreading like flu :)
I keep my couch open when I am back home and if only time allows it, I am willing to participate in local CS meetings. I am back in Poland now and will rock that Boat I live in (Lodz means a boat in Polish) whenever I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Briefly (most lately):
*Remotely hosted Merve and her friend in Boston Dec 2011
*Hosted Arunan for a couple of nights and had great dinner at a "hole in the wall" restaurant with our friends Nov 2011
*Visited Houston CSers (Cuban party at Cory's and Greek Festival with Ryan and Rebecca, party at Heidi) and introduced/converted 4 new people to the idea :) Oct 2011
*A few outings (drinks, movies, dinner, theater) with Boston CSers in July and August 2011
*Hung out "aggressively" with Miami Beach CS Locals and CS Travelers. Had a blast! and so did my friend Marta (CSer in the making :) (July 2011)
*More Hot Tub parties and Tipsy Tuesdays in San Diego, CA (January, March, May 2011)
*Couldn't get any closer to Hawaii and finally made it there! I almost feel like local to Maui thanks to my host - Dan and his friends (May 2011)
*Traveled to Grand Canyon with my CS-ing and non-CS friends (May 2011)
*Finally made it to a second Boston CS event! :) (April 2011)
*Surfed with Danielle and Jason in LA. Took my Mom along and she liked the experience (March 2011).
*Hot tub and costume party thrower on one downtown roof in San Diego, CA (July 2010-June 2011)
*My first CS event in Boston! So many new faces (November 2010)
*Made it to quite a few parties and CS events while in SD (July-October 2010)
*Hosted my friend Laura from Boston and showed her around San Diego in two crazy busy days. Thank God we had a car :) (October 2010)
*Hosted Tomasz in San Diego. I hope he didn't mind my sofa bed and the hot tub nights ;) (September 2010)
*Surfed with Emmanuel in San Francisco, met Florence and surfed further with her having a lot of fun and many pleasurable moments with the people we met :) (September 2010)
*Had some people crash at my apartment at all the possible sleeping surfaces (beds, floor, bed, small sofa or balcony) after the best toga party ever! (August 2010)
*Me and my friend were lucky to surf Joshua's couch in Las Vegas. I only wish it wasn't so quick (July 2010)
*I hosted Ben when he visited Lodz for Camerimage film festival. We still keep in touch to update each other on our locations :) (November 2009)
*In Birmingham (UK) I stayed at Jonathan's and occupied his spare room for about 3 weeks before I found my own place :) I think we both enjoyed spending some time together. (June 2006)
*I surfed a few couches during my hitchhiking trip in France (Montpellier-Nimes-Lyon-Paris and back :)). Together with my friend Gosia we stayed at Stephanie's and Jarek's for a few days and Catalina took us over to let us spend yet one more day in Paris. (April 2006)
*Poland with my crazy friend Beata. We were good and calm guests to her friend in Poznan.
*In my house there have always been people put up for a night, not only friends but also for example groups of pilgrimage participants (8-10 at once!).

Interests

Educate myself. I'm constantly learning and I still have plans to learn more (hungry for new languages, guitar, new sports to bruise me even more, dancing to waste my energy on something that produces endorphins, etc).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived Miami Beach and 4 clubbing nights in a row (9h of sleep in 4 days, I keep amazing myself :))
Survived the road to Hana, HI and did not crash my rental car.
I flew without a plane around me (does it count?).
I always put on a good world for people who serve/assist me well (not a complaint, a good word to help them with the bonus and recognition).
Last time in San Diego I must have eaten more good food than I weigh myself. It is quite incredible, believe me!
