ABOUT ME
Haven't found the perfect job yet so got a lot of time and energy left for travelling. And I guess there is no better way of getting to know new countries and cultures through its people, so I decided to give couchsurfing a try:)
PHILOSOPHY
Stay hungry, stay foolish.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just created my profile, so still a newbie.
But really curious what it will bring me, hope to meet a lot of interesting people with different backgrounds.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Got some help through the site working out my travel plans, haven't met up with anyone yet:)
Interests
Cooking, eating, travelling, outdoor activities like camping, hiking, running (total addict!), (mountain-) biking and funny walks. Photography, movies, music, history, politics, biology, meeting new people and learning new things.
But I don't mind being lazy and doing nothing every now and then either:)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, A Serious Man, Batman Begins, Das Leben Der Anderen, Idi i smotri, Cargo 200, No Country for Old Men, Der Untergang, The Last King of Scotland, Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei, Requiem for a Dream, Lawrence of Arabia, Casablanca, There Will Be Blood, The Dark Knight, La Grande Vadrouille, The Godfather, Big Lebowski, Sin City. To name a few.
Music: from Muse to Shostakovich and from klezmer to Rammstein - so that's not really set in stone:)
Books: tend to be more interested in non-fiction, books about travelling or the people that helped shape the world as we know it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania certainly was one of the most amazing (breathtaking;) experiences I ever had.
Jumping out of a plane 3,000 m above Banja Luka.
Travelling through Poland, Hungary and Ukraine all by myself for 3 weeks. During winter.
Biking along the Atlantic coast in Morocco, stopping by in small villages, seeing goats climb trees and rushing to be back home (I myself, not the goats:) just before dark was pretty good as well.
But a fun night out with friends also makes me realize that you don't always have to do crazy things "to feel alive":)
Teach, Learn, Share
See "my interests" - got a lot to tell but also hungry to learn more about it.
However, if you ever want to learn how to prepare the real dutch "snert" (pea soup) or want to join me for a run through the beautiful woods around Nijmegen, be sure to let me know!;)
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Morocco, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
Netherlands
