After almost two years outside the CS community I'm back on my way towards work-life balance...

Slightly sarcastic and ironic, constantly impressed by the richness and diversity of the world's nature and nurture...

"Glueckspilz"*, busy boy, open-minded free thinker, inquisitive of the world and people, a watchful observer of the latter. Lousy at technical things, awkward with maps.

I like prose by Coetzee, poetry by Szymborska, films by Bunuel and Almodovar and 20th century US drama.

I believe in the persuasive power of smile. :)

- travelling, both in premium class and backpacker's style,
- foreign languages and linguistics, in particular Germanic languages - want to take up Norwegian,
- social anthropology, sociology,
- Latin America (chiefly Mexico),
- US 20th century drama,
- most recently: Jewish culture

Professional interests include business location/site selection, construction disputes resolution, investment law plus interdisciplinary perspective on the shale gas industry.

As to my favourites books: I'd be delighted to find the oevres of Tennesse Williams under a Christmas tree (or in a Christmas stocking)...

I also enjoy reading dictionaries. :)
