Sobre Mim

CURRENT MISSION

To build a side business involving robotics and to get back into shape.

ABOUT ME

I have an education in the liberal arts and a Masters in Architecture, but leaned in to the technology side of the arts shortly thereafter. I lead a Design Computation group at an architecture firm -- which means that I write algorithms for architects and build R&D prototypes of technologies that can enhance our experience of the built environment. Architecture has brought me to dozens of countries over the years and I've met a lot of great people, discovering Couchsurfing along the way.

--

About us... I worked for 7 years before going back to school for architecture. I was a book editor, photographer, and filmmaker (super-8 and 16mm, medium format). Then I became an art-house film curator for a few years. During school I also worked as the architectural exhibits curator. As you might guess, I gravitate towards anything related to art, culture, and human expression.

I've worked off and on for a large architectural firm for the past 7 years, with a brief foray into the tech world, spending a year at a startup in Silicon Valley. My wife is a sign language interpreter and we met when I was in grad school.

We love people who have a unique outlook, people with a rich sense of humor and a way of finding enjoyment in the little things in life. We love people with knowledge and skills who aren't afraid to use them. (For good, not evil!)

We're not religious and we're fine with anyone who doesn't try to force their religion on us.

See you around CSers!

PHILOSOPHY

Love the variety of life; relish both our insignificance in the universe and the significance of our smallest actions.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Been to CS meetings in Warsaw and Rome, surfed on a couple couches, and made mine available to repay the CS generosity, but nobody ever wanted to visit Columbus. When I lived in Rome I got 2 or 3 requests a week, and hosted a number of folks on the weekends. My wife and I live with our 7-year-old daughter and so we are looking for easy-going, interesting people who are respectful guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS events in Warsaw, Rome, and Columbus, OH, surfing in Stockholm, Rome, and Paris, and hosting in Rome and maybe again in Columbus... It's been a while since we've hosted or surfed, but always open to the idea.

2) Kayaking and swimming in the blue-green sparks of the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo, PR...
