Overview
About Me
Hey! I'm Koray — originally from Istanbul, now based in Budapest. I’m someone who smiles and laughs a lot, and I believe that having fun is one of the most important things in life.
I studied Economics at Corvinus University and I'm currently doing my MSc in Management and Leadership. I co-founded an online language school, and I also work as a Hungarian language teacher (yes, a Turkish guy teaching Hungarian!). I love learning about different cultures, making new friends, and discovering unique perspectives through travel.
Food is a big passion of mine — I used to run a Budapest food guide on Instagram called @holeszunk, which had around 2,000 hungry followers 😄 These days, I'm diving into a new hobby — quite literally — with scuba diving, and I’m totally hooked.
I spent a year in Hungary as an AFS exchange student and have been volunteering with AFS ever since. Couchsurfing feels like a natural extension of that: connecting with open-minded, curious people from all around the world.
Let’s share stories, laughs, and maybe some good food along the way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is an amazing way to meet travelers and make real connections. I love sharing stories, learning about different cultures, and having meaningful conversations.
It’s always been a dream of mine to travel around Europe with just my backpack and stay with locals — and Couchsurfing made that dream come true. I’ve already hosted many amazing people and even had the chance to visit some of them in their home countries, which turned into unforgettable experiences.
For me, it’s not just about a free place to stay — it’s about the people you meet and the memories you create together.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie is The prestige.
I’m in love with classic rock and acoustic vibes, but I also enjoy deep house and the occasional night of clubbing. Gotta keep things balanced, right?
I enjoy thought-provoking books, especially those related to psychology, business, or travel — anything that expands my perspective.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1- I did an exchange year in Hungary with AFS, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I made friends from all over the world, and it really opened my eyes to how amazing it is to connect with people from different backgrounds. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to make even more international friends!
2- One of my favorite adventures was an unplanned trip around Europe — I never booked in advance, just picked the cheapest flight or bus right before departure. That spontaneous style took me to 6 countries and over 10 cities! No rush, no pressure — just pure freedom, discovering new places, and eating my way through each destination 😄
Teach, Learn, Share
I love sharing stories — whether it’s about language mix-ups, cultural surprises, spontaneous trips, or starting my own businesses. I believe every experience, good or bad, turns into a memory worth telling.
As a Hungarian language teacher and co-founder of an online language school, I can help you with Hungarian or Turkish, or even show you how to make language learning fun and personalized.
I’m passionate about nutrition and wellness and happy to give tips on how to eat healthier — without giving up the joy of food (I am a foodie, after all). I’ve run a food guide page, explored dozens of cities through their cuisine, and I’d love to exchange recipes or show you my favorite dishes.
I’m also into digital marketing, running a social media agency, and currently working on exciting projects. So if you're into startups, social impact, or entrepreneurship — let’s talk!
And lately, scuba diving has completely blown my mind. I'm still new to it, but I’d love to exchange dive stories or get tips if you're a more experienced diver.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good conversation, positive energy, and lots of laughs! I love exchanging travel stories, cultural insights, and random fun facts — whether over coffee, a home-cooked meal, or while exploring the city together.
If you're interested, I can teach you some Hungarian or Turkish, show you how to cook a simple dish, or even share nutrition tips to eat healthier without giving up delicious food. I can also help with language learning strategies, digital marketing tips, or startup ideas — I'm always up for a creative brainstorm!
And of course, I’m happy to help out around the house, bring a small gift from my travels, or just be a respectful guest who brings good vibes and leaves with great memories.
