ABOUT ME

I live in Venice since 1994. Too much. I love and I hate it.
Sometime I need to escape.....
I love to travel and meeting people...talking. Recently i'm not interested anymore in visiting monuments. I like much better to do ordinary activities in unknow cities. I love to cook. For me is very funny to go around for the food market to catch the ingredient to prepare an italian recipe.

Interests

i'm interested in everything, but specially cultural difference and similarity. I was born in Sicily, a big island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Since someone discovered navigation, many different peoples bumped on it. Sometimes if I keep silent I can feel my genetic melting pot voicing in different idioms. This is what I’m interested in: find and recognize every pieces of the puzzle.

Music, Movies, and Books

at the moment.....
Music: I’m heterogenic about it but at the moment I love La Fanciulla del West, Puccini and Conert n 2 and 3 by Rachmaninov. I love to go to opera houses but I’m not a melomaniac. I think opera is a total experience: theatre, music, visual arts. And is analogical in the sense that there is not technological mediation between singers and spectators.
Books: Tibor Fisher: The collector collector and The Thought Gang; Tom Robbins: Skinny Legs and All. I always loved the idea to hear a story from an object and both the authos above they speak about it. If you know someone else who writes about objects tell me…..
Regarding movies, I’m starting to think that we are leaving in a dark period for cinema. It seems that today producers and directors wants us to stupid. Instead I love old movies. In the past even commercial Hollywood productions were more daring and provocative. I love Tennessee Williams pieces like: The Night of Iguana, Sweet Bird of Youth; Almodovar: Que hecho yo por meritarme esto. And more.....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love walking...alone.. in evrey trip i try always to walk a lot. Walking make a grate effect in my brain. One of my gratest walk was going on the top of Etna vulcan alone. I can't describe you must do it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know if I have really something to teach... but I can show my obsessive fixation to travel with minimum and light luggage.
