I'm a filmmaker originally from Alaska. I've been traveling the world since ... err ... a long time. :)

I currently live in Berlin, a city I dearly love. Even so, it makes a fantastic staging area for planning trips throughout Europe and further afield.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been sharing couches with friends since ... forever. For as long as I've had a couch or spare room of my own I've always made it available to anyone who had need of a place to 'crash'. Travel visit? Late night drinking binge? House under renovation? Looking for a flat? Fight with the partner? Whatever the reason, the couch is yours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only used the couch surfing platform once before and it was a great experience. Typically, the sharing of couches has only been done amongst existing friends, which is what makes 'Couchsurfing' so interesting. Now, instead of "crashing with friends," one can now "crash and make friends." Brilliant!
