About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the world, expand my horizons.

ABOUT ME

I will be working a promotional marketing event with a fellow couch surfer at Daytona speedway in Daytona Beach from Thursday, 1/22 thru Sunday, 1/25. We are looking for a couch/floor to crash to save money, while meeting good people. Our work schedule is 7am-4pm during those days.

Personal- My friends and family all say I'm very random. I have a very diverse array of interests and hobbies including disc golf, fishing, bike riding, baseball, and trading. I am very sociable and love to meet new and different folks. I love to frequently travel. I'm currently traveling the country. Chicago-> S. Florida-> Austin, TX

Interests- I love good people, good locales, good music, good drink, good food. Good times. Some of my hobbies include bass and pike fishing, disc golfing, biking, and baseball.

I'ms a diverse, friendly, intelligent, humorous, progressive man. Talk to me to learn more! You can't learn much from a few paragraph blurps, right?

PHILOSOPHY

We should all strive for the common good, but I can't change others, I can only change myself, so I try to lead by example.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I LOVE to me meet couch surfers. They are some of the best people I've run across, and I can't wait to meet more folks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted twice and crashed four times.

Interests

I'll just list a few:

Organizing political and non-political campaigns, disc golf, meeting new people, being busy, learning, strategy board games, happy hours, traveling (of course), all things outdoor except hunting (even though I don't get to do them as much as I wish) such as bon fires, hiking, camping, all sorts of boating, all sorts of fishing, etc.

I love to do manual labor on occasion, and I love helping people frequently, so if I can do both at the same time, that's awesome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well.. Better to put something here than nothing.

The first campaign I launched was done independently and without any prior knowledge or skills. I decided paying hundreds of dollars each semester at college for my textbooks I instantly knew I would never use again was crazy. So I began the textbook price reduction committee on the student senate at my junior college. I brain stormed ways students could save money on these text books, and concluded renting textbooks through the book store rather than having to purchase them was the best option to save students money. To save you on the boring details, I launched a several month long campaign that culminated in the administration rejecting my idea essentially because the college made too much money off the sale of textbooks. By that time however, I had begun a statewide discussion of a rental program and other students ran with it, eventually writing a bill that was passed into law which secured the funding to start a rental program at St Cloud State University, which began its operations in the Fall of 2010. Hey. I did SOMETHING at least.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I become more involved I'll share stuff with ya. As of now, I just feel egocentric telling you what I believe is important for you to know. "Advice is a Dangerous Gift" -Tolkein

What I Can Share with Hosts

Personal contacts, professional resources, comedy, good times, new friends.
