About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My objectif is to do a world tour with a dwarf on my shoulders or on the contrary on a dwarf's back but it will be more difficult...

ABOUT ME

People would certainly say that if I were a vegetable I would be an eggplant. If not perhaps they'd say that my dream would be to become a shepherd who would have a flock with only very small ships since I like very small characters.

PHILOSOPHY

Every day is a new chance to realize one's dreams, the most difficul is finally to know exactly what are those dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I need to confess that for the moment I don't particpate as much as I would like to couch surfing : I only used it to find hosts because it was not so easy up to now to welcome couchsurfers on my own couch. I am sure that one day it will change, since for me couchsurfing is not only a way to travel but also a way to share good time, experiences and bit of culture with people all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

THe first time I uses couchsurfing was just amazing, one of my best experience in life : I was planning a bike trip from Paris to Perpignan in the south of France, on the Mediterranean coast, to see my grandparents. I had a 9 days trip and each night I needed to sleep in a different place. I chose not to bring a tent in order to see friends and also to try couchsurfing. Finally, I slept in 4 different couchs of couchsurfers, every one more friendly and welcoming than the others. One of her was a young mother who was not here the day I came to her town. I was welcomed by her son and a young grandma who was a friend of her. It was just crazy the way those people trusted me. It just changed my vision of people and humanity.

Interests

I won't be original but in addition to dwarfs people who I'm very fond of, I am also interested in music and going to concerts or festivals (many kinds of music even if I think my favorite is the so-called "alternative scene"), I like movies based on real life (more than action movies) with a bit of poetry and I'm quite old fashioned since I really prefer going to cincema, I also like reading even if I don't always find the time. I also really enjoy sports in nature (biking, hiking, climbing, skiing...) and one of my project would be to go on a very long bike tour.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top movie : "La Vita E Bella" from Roberto Benigni

Top group (at this time) : Les Cowboys Fringants, a Quebecois group

Top book : I really don't know but recently I read "La vie devant soi" from Emile Ajar alias Romain Gary, which was very great

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some experiences that mark me a lot:
- to sleep on the "tata" (a clay-made house that looks like a little castle) 's roofs in the north of Togo not far from the border with Benin(at the Tambermas, one of the many ethnic groups in Togo who are still very traditionnal): I sleep outside in the middle of the savana, after a lunch made of a local chicken killed and plucked in front of me.

- to go to my friend Mama's village, live with her family in their small farm full of children and animals, just seat down, rest and watch the spectacle of people living very simply but always in a very good mood

- hurry up on Lomé's roads in "Zem" (moto-taxi) in the evening when the atmosphere is softer and become intoxicated with fresh air and feeling of freedom

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very curious and I always want to learn new things, new skills or just great experiences from people. I don't know what I can teach but I know pretty well things about energy, I can discuss hours on how we could change the world to solve current environmental issues.
