ABOUT ME

Currently, I am an ALT for three different Junior Highschools in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima. I'm fairly easy-going with a sometimes dark sense of humour. I'm definitely not a girly-girl (but I do freak out over cute things from time to time); I was raised with manners and love a good joke.

Interests

My number one interest is probably SCUBA diving. I was first certified when I was 10 and it is one of my true passions. I will drink socially and enjoy a party once in a blue moon, definitely not every weekend though. I love traveling, I want to se the world and everything that there is in it. I enjoy art, hiking, theme parks, and things off the beaten path. I also adore history and museums.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most recent moments of being 'awestruck' was at the peak of the central volcanic cone at Aogashima. Aogashima is an island and the smallest municipality in Japan, with a population of roughly 160 people. Such an untamed place with people carving out their own little niche, seeing the steam from the thermal vents rising, it took my breath away.

Another one of my awestruck moments would be from my childhood. When I was about 9, my family took a vacation to the Dominican Republic. Seeing not only a different culture but, also, the disparity of living conditions and wealth there, it's something that still haunts me.
