About Me

Twenty-five years old and I knew I had to bite the bullet. Adventure and wonder relentlessly pumping through my veins for the past ten years and I knew it would never go away. Not until I escaped the American Dream and left my comfortable life behind.

A leap of faith outside the bounds of the American norm; an unexpected and misunderstood judgment - to leave a budding career and a life in the States at such a formidable age to venture out into the unknown. The rest of the young 20-something Americans are getting married, starting families, and climbing up the ladder in their corporate jobs. They have formed a routine and settled comfortably into the mold.

This was something I could not do. Not yet.

It would have been easy to stay. There was no reason for me to go, other than the unquenchable desire to explore the unknown that had been bubbling underneath, unable to be silenced for the past six years. At 25, the only thing I was entirely sure of in my small life was that I would regret it forever if I did not at least find out. And the only thing I feared more than leaving itself, was never leaving at all.

So I left. Abandoning a job and life that I loved, I took my sheepish mound of a few thousand dollars, and without any more of a plan than ten flights, I packed a backpack and fled the so desired "American Dream."

Seven months ago, I embarked on this solo circumnavigation of the globe to embrace and experience the people and cultures that make up this beautiful earth, and I am in nowhere near done. In the past months, I have backpacked through France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, and have been blogging glimpses of the journey along the way.

An entertainer and storyteller by nature, my blog invites readers in to see this beautiful earth through my eyes - not only the wonder, beauty, adventure and empowering various cultures, but also the struggles, fears, and aggravation of embarking throughout this world alone (and as a female.) Wrapped up in a hilarious and upbeat take on the tale and laced with insights and reflections, I promise the read will take you for a thrilling ride and leave you unable to remain the same.
